VISONIK History
"We have the smallest one!" - It sounded pithily at the Internationalen Funkausstellung Berlin 1975.
The smallest available loudspeaker was the DAVID from VISONIK - a true sensation.
Even though small as a paperback it achieved the quality requirements to fulfill the
german industry standard for HiFi loudspeakers - the DIN 45 500.
Groud-breaking in a time, where only big loudspeakers accomplished the standard.
The nature of the DAVID's sound caused experts to change their opinion.
This was the start of VISONIK's triumphal procession around the world yielding
one award after the other.
1977 was a very special year for VISONIK. The DAVID 50 was awarded the Japanese Export Product Award of the 6. Japanese Audio Grand Prix for innovative developments.
This marked only the beginning of a steep carreer.
1977 was the birth-date of another innovasion of VISONIK, the SUB 1.
This sub-bass module supplemented the DAVIDs and could be placed independently
somewhere else in the listening room.
Thus, it allowed the sound performance of bigger speakers with the small DAVIDs in
an inconspicous way.
The socalled Satellite Systems were born.
This extraordinay innovative development even caused reports on the ARD in the
ARD Ratgeber and has been adapted later by many loudspeaker manufacturers.
The DAVID 4000, presented in 1978, was particularly innovative because its case was cast in aluminium. It resulted in new benchmarks for machining, resonance-behaviour and stability of the case. The DAVID 5001, nowadays still in production, endues over these exclusive technological features. With the introduction of the 6000-series in 1980, VISONIK presented the LED overload protection. It protects the loudpseaker system against overload and reacts quicker as all other known protection systems. The use of (at this time) novel LEDs (light emitting diodes) was another spadework of VISONIK.
After worldwide acceptance of VISONIK,
1985 became another important date in its corporate history: The millionth DAVID was produced.
This makes it to one of the most often produced HiFi devices ever.
In 1992 VISONIK extended its product sprectrum about high-quality loudspeakers for home use. The reference class title, awarded by some HiFi magazines, appreciates the VISONIK-typical innovative concepts. For instance the VISONIK V 470 - it was equipped with a passive bass euqalisation. Test magazines nominated this loudspeaker as highlight of the year
The product lines Evolution and Concept have been continously improved since their launch in 1977. VISONIK therewith sets standards the combination of accurate machining and extraordinary auditive performance. High quality veneers, pleasing desing and best sound quality made in Germany.
A strong focus in research and development assures the remarkable position of VISONIK. Worldwide, from ZDF in Germany over studios in the USA to the BBC in Great Britain, professionals faith in the VISONIKs DAVID as a small monitor speaker.
Further more, VISONIC products are also in use in quality assurance - for instance at DPA Microphones.
We are grateful for the trust in our products. Professionals oblige us to quality. You can profit from that as well.
